Lots of people ask me for help in toning up their arms – it might feel like quite an uphill battle, but actually, a few adjustments to your workout routine will help a lot!
We can’t choose where our body takes fat from first, and while simply losing weight will result in smaller arms, we still won’t achieve that toned look without gaining muscle and strength in them.
And so – perhaps obviously – if you want to tone up your arms, your focus needs to be on building up the muscles in your arms. Don’t focus only on the backs of your arms because that’s where you see the fat – make sure you work on the fronts of your arms too!
You’re going to need to weight your exercise choices towards your upper body, and you’ll do these exercises at the beginning of your workout rather than towards the end.
You’re probably going to work your whole upper body too rather than choosing arm-only exercises, although you might choose to bring in a few arm-only exercises at the end of your workout too.
Then, it’s super important to back up all your hard work.
Make sure to keep moving in general.
Make a point of prioritising your sleep as a lack of sleep, or poor sleep quality, will reduce your ability to gain muscle.
Likewise, making sure to get your diet right will be a crucial part of the jigsaw too.
